Sažetak
Climate change has a great impact on the bee survival and consequently on the production of honeybee products. This is visible in the change of honey plants flowering, longer rainy and windy periods, dry summers, short winters, late spring frosts, etc. Civilizations throughout history have been familiar with honeybee products thus fulfilling the need for treatment, nutrition and cosmetics. Numerous medical benefits of honeybee products and beehive air therapy for the entire human organic system have been proven as a complementary form of treatment. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to present the beehive air therapy application as a method of alternative treatment and as a supplement to standard methods of treatment. The survey results show that 97.7% of respondents believe in the healing properties of honeybee products. 99.4% of them used or use some of the honeybee products. The stated purposes of use are to strengthen immunity, prevent disease, sore throat, colds, skin diseases, osteoarthritis, asthma, multiple sclerosis, and viral inflammation. 63.2% of respondents claim that they noticed changes after one month, 17% of them after three, 2.3% after six or more months, and 17.5% of respondents did not notice any improvement. Inhaling air directly from the beehive was used by 13.5% of respondents, 48% would use beehive air therapy, 7% would not try it, and 45% said they might if they were better informed. Everyday honeybee products consumption has become a culture of living that could be reduced or even eliminated due to the climate change effects.
