Sažetak
South-eastern border of the Habsburg Monarchy, from continental Istria and Croatian Littoral, along the Croatian and Slavonian Military Frontier, to Slavonia (Slawonien), Baranja (Branau), Syrmia (Syrmien) and Banat were “guarded” by hundreds of the public monuments, newly established parish churches, chapels, altars, and liturgical objects dedicated to St. John of Nepomuk. Relating the evidences of the saint’s veneration mentioned in this article, and shown on the historical map of the south-eastern regions of the Habsburg Monarchy, issued by Matthäus Seutter (1740), one can notice that St. John of Nepomuk’s sculptures and paintings watchfully accompanied Habsburg conquests.
