Sažetak
INTRODUCTION: The life of the 21st century is marked by numerous diseases, and one of the most common is certainly diabetes. The consequence of absolute or relative deficiency or action of insulin is the cause of diabetes, and the result is hyperglycemia. It is associated with numerous complications in pregnancy and further development of the child. The existence of type 1 and 2 diabetes is diagnosed before pregnancy, but gestational diabetes is also diagnosed during pregnancy. Gestational diabetes (type III) is recognizable by transient glucose intolerance in pregnancy and occurs in about 1-4% of all pregnancies. OBJECTIVE: The aim of the study was to examine the level of knowledge of pregnant women with gestational or pregestational diabetes about diabetes. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The study included pregnant women who were pregnant at the time of the study. The survey was conducted from April 1 to June 1 via an online questionnaire. A total of 225 pregnant women participated in the study.
