Sažetak
Recent systematic research on the Nadin-Gradina archaeological site (also known as Roman Nedinum), offers new insight into the spatial organization and urban transformation of the settlement over the course of more than 1500 years. Situated in northern Dalmatia, Croatia, this important settlement emerged around the 11th/10th century BCE, with evidence for occupation until the late 6th or early 7th century CE. The archaeological record demonstrates a gradual expansion of the site from a small architectural core in the Late Bronze Age / Early Iron Age to a pronounced urban built environment during the Roman Era. By the first centuries AD, the settlement covered a fortified summit area of 7.5 hectares, indicating significant population growth and urban change through time. Although various elements of the architectural built environment clearly point to both qualitative and quantitative changes in construction, the basic urban plan established during the Early Iron Age remained fundamentally intact into the Roman era.
