Sažetak
This paper discusses the role of autonomous career motivation in career construction of adolescents. We rely on the Career Construction Model of Adaptation, proposed by Mark Savickas and nicely evidenced in recent years, to examine the position and unique contribution of autonomous career motivation in the course of career construction. On three samples of middle adolescents (total of 1891 respondents aged 15 to 17 years) we hypothesize and explore the possible position of autonomous career motivation in the path model that reflect direct and indirect effect from adaptivity through adaptability to adapting behaviours. The unique role of autonomous career motivation among personality traits, core self-evaluations, career adaptability, and career decision making difficulties for career construction in adolescence is discussed.
