Sažetak
The damping in structures is a dynamic property that represents the dissipation of energy caused by the vibrational motion. Identifying damping is not a trivial task as it is sensitive to various influences, such as noise. Nowadays, high-speed cameras offer the possibility to measure the full- field displacement response from the surface of the structure without contact. Responses measured in this way are noisy, especially in the high frequency range, which makes it difficult to identify the damping, especially with classical methods. We present a Morlet wave damping identification method, which is based on the continuous wavelet transform. It is as good as the CWT, except that it is much faster and does not suffer from the influence of the edge effect. Overdetermination is used to improve identification results by applying spatial averaging. The damping was identified up to 2.5kHz using the aluminium beam as an experimental example.
