Sažetak
The development of human society and democracy in the recent years of the 20th and at the beginning of this century led to the process of rapprochement, association and the process of globalization in all spheres of life. At the level of psychiatry, we are connected by a common classification system of International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems. Mutual rapprochement based on reciprocal respect and democratization would also require a willingness to agreement, but declaratively, differences should also be respected. Operationally, integrations are defined by legal regulations, and so Croatia also had to introduce, as a part of the package of laws on human rights, the Law on Protection of Persons with mental disorders. Regardless of the mentioned mechanism, the process of interdisciplinary approach and interaction of law and medicine is also ongoing. From the time distance, we can realize the benefits, but also the obvious disadvantages of the applied concept. Democracy, according to its definition, should enable the freedom to point at the apparent irregularities and illogicalities, freedom of choice and equal rights for all.
