Sažetak
The use of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) is common in multiple sclerosis (MS). It include approaches to MS that are not generally considered as part of conventional medicine. There is very limited research evaluating the sefety and effectiviness of CAM in MS. CAM therapies in MS exibit a broad range of risk-benefit profiles ; some of these therapies are low risk and possibly beneficial, whereas other are ineffective, dangerous, or unstudied. However , in recent years, much effort has been invested in research in this very important area. Health professionals who provide objective, evidence based and practical information about the risk and benefit of CAM therapies may improve the quality of care for those with MS.
