Sažetak
Aim: To determine the distribution of the Condylion-Gonion-Menton (CoGoMeˆ) angle in the population of the Littoral Croatia, and to determine whether age, sex, sagittal intermaxillary skeletal class angle, and mandibular inclination are predictors of the CoGoMeˆ angle. Materials and Methods: The sample consisted of 42 lateral cephalograms, 17 of males, age range from 14years(y)1month(m) to 17y9m (median 16y, IQR 15y2m – 17y). The Cervical Vertebral Maturation (CVM) method was used to assess skeletal maturation, all subjects were in the Cervical Stage (CS) 4 or higher, indicating passing of the peak of pubertal growth of the mandible. Audax Ceph software (Audax, Ljubljana, Slovenia) was used for the cephalometric analysis: sagittal jaw relationship (ANPgˆ), mandibular inclination (SNˆGoGn) and condylar angle (CoGoMeˆ) were measured. The normality of distribution of the CoGoMe, ANPg and SNˆGoGn angles was assessed with the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. Pearson's correlation analysis was used to evaluate the relationships between the parameters. Hierarchical multiple regression analysis was conducted to test the predictors of the CoGoMe angle. Results: Mean values for the angles CoGoMe, ANPg and SNGoGn were 126.9° (standard deviation, SD 6.8°), 2.6° (SD 2.8°), and 33.9° (SD 5.7°), respectively. The Kolmogorov-Smirnov test indicated that the data were following the normal distribution. In univarate analysis, the ANPg angle and SNˆGoGn angle correlated with the CoGoMe angle (r=0.353-0.532 ; p≤0.022). Age and sex were introduced into the multiple regression model for the prediction of the CoGoMe angle in the first step, while the ANPg, and SNˆGoGn angles were added in the second step. The model accounted for 39.7% of the variance of the CoGoMe angle. The SNˆGoGn and ANPg angles were significant predictors of CoGoMe angle (p≤0.023), accounting for 30% and 8% of the variance, respectively. Conclusion: Distribution of the CoGoMeˆ angle in the population of the Littoral Croatia is normal. The CoGoMeˆ is associated with vertical growth pattern and intermaxillary sagittal skeletal class.
