Sažetak
Tactile properties give the perception of the material depending on the type of fibers from which the material is made, or its construction, taking into account the surface structure and finishing process of materials. The evaluation of touch is understood as a feeling that arises from contact between textiles and skin. For the polymer materials that are used for the production of sportswear which is located next to the skin, the friction between the sliding of human skin and different types of materials plays an important role in the development of sports materials. Therefore, the need to evaluate the tactile properties of polymer materials is inevitable. This paper focuses on the further improvement of the touch method for the evaluation of polymer materials with the participation of evaluators. In the focus of the investigation are the following pairs of attributes: stiffness-softness, roughness- smoothness, non-stretchability, stretchability and thin-thick. The discussion of the outcomes of the research outlines the differences in the perception of evaluated pairs of attributes due to the evaluator profiles. It also correlated the obtained rates to the results of objective testing of material properties. The final conclusions emphasize the importance of the conducted method to get a real insight into the material behaviour from the perspective of a consumer.
