Sažetak
The enzymatic hydrolysis is one of the alternative methods of surface modification of poly(ethylene- terephthalate) (PET) fabrics. The lipase, cutinase and esterase can be used as alternative to conventional hydrolysis with NaOH, which is not environmentally friendly. In this paper, the influence of cutinase modification of polyester fabric surface to its properties was researched. Cutinase were applied in wide concentration range (0.5–25 g/l) at 100°C for 60 min and compared to alkali hydrolysis. The characterization of hydrolysed polyester fabric surface was performed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The Fluorescent Brightener 135 (Ciba) was applied for the purpose of determination of fabric adsorption, whiteness, and UV protection. The cutinase hydrolysis led to the PET fabric functionalization resulting in better whiteness and UV protection than in alkali one. The lowest cutinase concentration of 0.5 g/l proved to be enough.
