Sažetak
Bioethical education can be partitioned into domains like land ethics education, wildlife ethics, protection education, medical ethics education, etc. Bioethical education is important, particularly in the contemporary world, in which this domain of life seems to be threatened from various sources and directions (e.g. climate change and associated issues having to do with the environment, increased diminishing of biodiversity, and reduction of some vital biosphere zones and living spaces, possible misuse of biotechnology and genetic technology, advances in medicine that open up critical ethical dilemmas, etc.). The phrase “Mens sana in corpore sano” comes from The Satires (collection of satirical poems from the Roman poet Juvenal). This phrase or even proverb can direct us to the one link between bioethical education and sports in today’s world. Physical activity, sports, and exercise have been essential components of preserving the health system for decades. Sport is the most popular and the most famous form of non-formal physical education. Probably, there is no single elementary school student who didn’t practice some sport. Apart from the fact that sport is extremely important for maintaining health, it has many other values, the most important one is the social dimension. We can agree with the statement that organized sports improvements improve the health of students, develop self-confidence and self- esteem, responsibility, competitive spirit, teamwork skills and support the socialization process. But here we have a lot of bioethical questions to which we must draw attention. Some of these questions are ; How to prevent self- confidence to become excessive self-confidence ; how to prevent that self-esteem links to aggressive behavior, how to prevent ambition to become an obsession, how to prevent negative psychological pressures on coaches, families, and society, etc. The meta-question of these questions is how to preserve the quality of life of a young sportsman.
