Sažetak
Our aim is not to prove authenticity of the Our Lady appearance. We shall leave that to the long- lasting scientific studies. What are important to us are the experiences, meetings of million young people of the whole world regardless of their religion or race. During the last 9 years of the existing story of Our Lady appearance in Međugorje, 12 million people have passed through Međugorje and more than a half are young people. Guided by other religious believe or touristic curiosity they have decided to take a trip to a small place called Međugorje, just on the border of cultures and religions. Međugorje is located in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the central republic of Yugoslavia, 15 km. from an orthodox monastery Žitomislić, and just a few kilometers from a mosque. On 24/25th June 1981 ( the day of the first appearance of Our Lady) the place was a remote poor village with its working population mostly engaged in temporarily work in Western Europe and the ones at home cultivating tobacco and vineyards. Without canalization, public toilets and the possibility of housing a large number of people contamination could have aroused very easily. The fact that it didn't happen, is an-noted to the miracle of Our Lady of Međugorje. In the meanwhile, a large number of people come back from their work abroad, to their home land and constructed houses having 6 to 60 rooms with 5 to 180 beds with a 7 percent having today toilets and bathrooms. From hundred of beds existing in 1981 today in Međugorje are 15.000 beds mostly private property of people once so poor, from that part of Europe, at the margins of existence. What is most interesting is that the messages conveyed by Our Lady are those with basic human calls for love, peace, reconcilement, and forgiveness. Our main interest lies down on the psychological motivation that brings the young people and world well-known people to Međugorje and through them the motivation of million young tourists from the whole world.
