Sažetak
Biological approaches (“Green synthesis”) using plant extracts for metal nanoparticles synthesis have been suggested as alternative tool towards different chemical methods. Naturally occurring phytoconstituents consist of proteins, amino acid, alkaloids, flavonoids, phenols and vitamins act as reducing agents for silver ions by getting oxidized and coats the newly developed particles [1]. In this study we performed biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using leaf extract of dandelion (Taraxacum officinale Weber L.) samples collected at polluted (along the highway) and unpolluted locations (Nature Park Kopački Rit). The formation of AgNPs was observed by colour change from green to brown and it was confirmed by UV -Vis spectroscopy by the presence of maxima at around 420 nm. FTIR measurements were used to predict the role of reducing and stabilizing capacity of dandelion extracts. Slightly differences in UV-Vis absorption spectra, FTIR and XRD spectra of AgNPs between samples collected from different locations (polluted/unpolluted) were noticed. The results of FTIR study confirmed that both types of dandelion extracts (collected on polluted and unpolluted locations) have the ability to perform dual functions of reductions and stabilization of AgNPs.
