Sažetak
The Tesla coil is a dry resonant transformer (air cores) used to generate currents by electromagnetic induction. This device was patented and first constructed by Nikola Tesla in 1891 and is one of his most famous patents. Tesla currents are alternating currents of high frequencies and high voltage and are obtained using Tesla's transformer. With Tesla's transformer, whose mode of operation is similar to ordinary transformers, it is possible to obtain currents of frequencies up to 12 million Hz and voltages up to 20 mega volts. In his experiments, Tesla managed to derive a voltage of 100 Mega volts, but this (as far as is known) no one did again. Tesla's goal in making this transformer was wireless lighting as well as wireless transmission of electricity and information. Tesla wanted (and worked on) electricity to be available and free for all, which was not to the liking of investors, and electricity transmission was being developed by other methods that were easier to commercialize. After the investments stopped, the experiments led to other uses such as X-rays, electrotherapy, and other purposes. This paper describes the principle of operation of transformers with special reference to high- frequency transformers. The paper describes a mathematical model of Tesla's coil with all associated elements. The mathematical model is the basis for the calculations of each individual part of the Tesla coil. The elements of Tesla's coil were calculated, which was then made, and measurements were performed on it, with which the resonant frequency of the primary circuit and the resonant frequency of the secondary circuit were adjusted to the same value. After the production of Tesla's coil, the methodology of education of different ages of students in the field of theoretical physics was developed. The first aim of this paper is to describe the mechanism of operation of a high-frequency transformer, and to give a methodology and calculation for its construction. As part of the work, a laboratory model of Tesla's transformer was made, with a detailed calculation of electrical and mechanical quantities. The second aim of this paper is to show how to methodically fit Tesla 's coil into the teaching process and use its visual attractiveness to raise motivation and facilitate, visually, adoption some natural phenomena and physical laws.
