Sažetak
He generation of 3D models from still images has been a long term goal in computer vision, a branch of artificial intelligence in the field of computer science which explores the state machines and models for extracting information from the digital images. Acquiring high quality 3D models is no longer restricted to processing on desktop computers and high end laptops. Modern and powerful smartphones and tablets (mobile platforms) open up the possibilities designing new methods for 3D reconstruction. The scope of this project is twofold. First part concerns the development and implementation of the efficient 3D reconstruction algorithms optimized for the mobile platforms features. Extending smartphone or tablet functionality towards 3D scanning device is interesting both for the scientific research and for the industrial (economic) exploitation as well. Therefore, the second part of this work is aimed at estimation of anthropometric measurements combining 2D and 3D data from mobile platforms. Anthropometric measurements are of particular interest to a large group of beneficiaries since nowadays anthropometry plays an important role in industrial design, clothing design, ergonomics, medicine and architecture where statistical data about the distribution of body dimensions in the population are used to optimize various products and services.
