Sažetak
The prevalence of asthma is generally high ; it is higher in industrialized countries, however, the difference from developing countries is being diminished on a daily basis. The general prevalence of asthma in children is 10% - 15%. The aim was to determine the utilization of hospital beds for asthma in Zagreb hospitals during 2001. Variation in the rate of hospitalization for asthma during the 1996&#8211 ; 2001 period was assessed to predict future requirements for hospital treatment.
