Sažetak
Instrumentation for simultaneous recording of myoelectric potentials and occlusal sounds is rare due to the fact that different sensors (electrodes and microphones) are applied and the amplitude and frequency dynamics of measured signals is different as well. In this paper an application of a PC - controlled multichannel transient recorder in acquiring, processing and analysis of myoelectric and occlusal signals is described. The transient recorder is connected to six electromyographic (EMG) and two audio amplifiers. The sounds taken from microphones placed on both cheeks are used as an analogue of the occlusion. Besides gain, high and low cut off frequency programming, electrode impedance control and calibration can be carried out. A personal computer is used for data acquisition and processing. Due to its PC-compatibility and low cost, this system can be used in the routine dental practice for diagnostic and therapeutic as well as for experimental purposes.
