Sažetak
A PC-controlled multichannel system with 6 channels for the registration of EMG activity and 2 audio channels for the registration of the occolusal sounds was designed for the simultaneous recording of muscle activity and teeth sounds during dental occlusion. The main requirements of the system were noninvasive methods of measurement, acquisition and storage of six EMG channels and two audio channels, entry and storage of dental status and some anamnestic data of patients, as well as the print out of all stored data. Surface electrodes are used for EMG recordings. The sound is picked up by two microphones Electret 10mV/Pa. Signal conversion is obtained through an A/D converter. Comfort in use is obtained by automatically controlled electrode impedance calibration. By zoom-in some more detailed sections can be observed (i.e silent. period), and evaluated. Data recorded during measurements are temporarily stored on the hard disc system or permanently on floppy discs. The developed software allows selective presentation of any of the eight recorded signals in one, two, four or eight graphical windows. Due to its PC- compatibility and low cost, this system can be used in routine dental practice for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes as well as for experimental procedures.
