Sažetak
Evaluation of the mechanism of mandibular kinetics can be performed by simultaneous recording and analysis of the activity of masticulary muscles and vibrations of occlusion. Apparatus for simultaneous recording of electromyography and occlusal sounds are rare due to the fact that different sensors (electrodes and microphones) are used and the amplitude and frequency dynamics of measured signals is different as well. In this paper pa PC-controlled measuring system of six- channel EMG and two audio channels is described. The sound taken by microphones placed on the cheeks is used as an analogue of the occlusion. Besides Gain, high and low cut-off frequency programming, electrode impedance control and calibration can be carried out. Personal computer is also used for data acquisition and processing. Due to its PC-compatibility and low cost, this system can be used into the routine dental practice for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes as well as for experimental purposes.
