Sažetak
Steel production steelworks results also in large amounts of steel slag as a byproduct. [1-4] The resulting slag can be applied in different branches of the industry, depending on its properties and composition, which are tailored to the specific application requirements by additional procedures. Thermal stability of slag depends on its composition and morphology, which is a consequence of steel production process and cooling speed of slag. [5] Therefore, the thermal stability of the slag sample, obtained in the process of steel production in the electric-arc furnace in ABS Sisak d.o.o., was investigated in this work. Investigations were performed by simultaneous thermal analysis, differential thermal analysis and thermogravimetry. Temperature intervals of loss of mass as well as transformation temperatures of slag sample were determined.
