Sažetak
The article reflects on the devotion to the Heart of Mary within two fundamental Mariological postulates that were defined, in reference to the New Testament and Patristic Mariology, by the Second Vatican Council: all Mariological contents, including the veneration of Mary, are Christologically based and ecclesiologically directed. The Christological-ecclesiastical foundation of the conciliar Mariology proves to be the theologically most important and ecclesiologically-soteriologically the most relevant element of this worship. Starting from the religious aspect of the Heart of Mary and her connection with the Son, the deep connection between the heart of the Mother and the heart of the Son and their perfect and complete harmony in the common direction of Heavenly Father's will is revealed. In accordance with the conciliar Mariology and its emphasis on Mary as a model for the Church, this element is finally recognized as the main theological content of the religious worship and discipleship of the Heart of Mary. Therefore, this worship cannot be equated with banal projections of human affectivity and should be aimed at religious respect and existential acceptance of the Word of God. The Heart of Mary is recognized as a true symbol of the Church, whose imitation indicates two sensibilities of the Church: sensitivity to the will of God and sensitivity to the needs of every human being.
