Sažetak
Pressurized water dividers in fire trucks must be watertight and not contaminating to potable water. The paper studies the problem of a cast aluminium divider leaking through the wall at 5 bar. Radiographic X-ray analysis and liquid penetrant testing is done to study the defects. Microscopy, chemical analysis, and hardness tests are performed to compare the declared material to the applied material. Casting design and casting process modifications, as well as the use of controlled recycled aluminium alloys are suggested.
