Sažetak
Measurement-based verification of the calculated dose distribution in radiotherapy treatment plans for individual patients has been advocated in many papers and international guidelines, especially for advanced radiotherapy techniques such as intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) [1]. There are many ways to perform such verification and these procedures are commonly known as patient- specific quality assurance (PSQA). In this work, we describe an implementation of a commercially available system, PTW Octavius 4D, for dosimetric verification in step-and-shoot IMRT and a preliminary one-year results of gamma index (γ) analysis for 42 patients treated for head and neck or prostate malignancies. One-year clinical results were in agreement with similar studies or even better due to more strict criteria used, leading to possibly higher tolerance levels in the future, if supported by planned further investigations on the influence of various parameters on the gamma analysis scores.
