Sažetak
The arm of this study was to describe dental and prosthetic status, as well as oral hygine in a group of psychiatric elderly patients. The heteroanamnesis were collected from their medical protocols and clinical examinations of dental status were done by dental mirror and probe. The judgment of the periodontal status was made by modified CPITN indeks. Plak index was taken according to the method of Sillness and Loe. The results showed that 26% of dentate patients had plak index scores 2., and 23% plak index score 3. The CPITN index obtained values showed in 43% of the dentate patients scores 2. and 3. Chi square test for these two parameters show statistical significance. In a dentate sample (61) 50 crowns were found and only seven bridges. From a total number of 149 patients, 88 were found edentulous and 38 patients with one or both total or partial dentures. 60% of edentulous sample required full or partial denture therapy. The state of existing prosthetic appliances was very poor and required a new threatment.
