Sažetak
According to one version, the diagram shows two eutectics (E1 - 24 % Al2O3, 76 % MnO) and (E2 - 72 % Al2O3, 28 % MnO) and manganese spinel MnAl2O4, which melts congruently at 1 850 °C. According to another version, the E2 eutectic is absent, and the spinel melts incongruently. The nature and melting point of the compounds of this system play an important role in the smelting of ferrosilicon manganese with high silicon content. The experimental data obtained are close to the phase diagram with incongruent spinel melting and the absence of the E2 eutectic. The data obtained make it possible to predict the earlier appearance of the liquid phase and to consider the carbon reduction process of MnO and Al2O3 from the liquid phase.
