Sažetak
Type III transforming growth factor beta receptor (TGFbrIII) modulates TGFbeta superfamily signaling. Its tutor tissue expression is downregulated in human breast cancer. We assumed that its soluble form (sTGFbrIII) could be detectable in plasma with potential use in diagnostics/follow-up of breast cancer patients. For this purpose, we aimed to develop an indirect ELISA for its quantification and test its utility in a cohort of women with breast cancer. Our data suggest a high potential of plasma sTGFbrIII as a vowel diagnostic and prognostic biomarker in breast cancer.
