Sažetak
This presentation discusses the current state of metadata among open data portals at the national level. Metadata from leading countries portals in terms of open data initiative according to globally recognized indices (e.g., Open Data Barometer, Global Open Data Index) were analyzed. Our findings suggest that there is still a lot of room for improvement. All key OD stakeholders must become aware of these important gaps to move forward with the initiative of Open Data. Neglecting the identified issues will inhibit achieving expected open data benefits. That is why, in addition to emphasizing the noticed disadvantages of current state metadata of open government data, the idea is to present a draft of guidelines that could be beneficial to improve open data. This presentation is particularly useful for OGD administrators and officers responsible for the development of guidelines and implementation in OGD portals.
