Sažetak
Multilingualism is the most salient feature of EU law ; not only is it essential for the functioning of EU law, it is also a landmark of European democracy and competitiveness. With its unprecedented number of official languages, and the principle of equal authenticity as the cornerstone of multilingual law-making, the EU seems to respect and protect its linguistic diversity. Yet, mobile EU citizens continue to push the boundaries of language rights within the multilingual and multinational EU setting: from the digital single market to the administrative and court proceedings in the Member States. Indeed, recent case-law of the Court of Justice of the EU sheds a new light on the language rights paradigm, in particular in regard to minority languages, as the right to use minority languages in court proceedings is extended to all EU citizens, not just to those residing in the respective areas.
