Sažetak
With the intention of finding a drug or inhibitor whose role will be to prevent the formation of kidney stones, many studies have been conducted and this topic is still relevant today. Along the way, the main subject of study was calcium oxalate as well as its hydrated forms (COM, COD, and COT) because they are major compounds present in the composition of kidney stones. The research was mainly based on the preparation and study of the structural characterization (TG, XDR, FTIR, SEM) of calcium oxalate hydrates in interaction with gallic acid (GA). The experiments were performed according to various parameters such as temperature (25 ◦C, 36.5 ◦C and 48 ◦C), pH values (5.6, 6.5 and 7.5) and the amount of added GA (ranging from 100 mg to 1000 mg). The influences of the parameters used in the study of COM and COD generation were analyzed using response surface methodology. In addition, the process was optimized by means of the same method in order to maximize their amount in the samples. Analyzes confirmed that GA inhibits the formation of COM (0-100%), but also affects on COD (0 ≤ 99%) by enhancing their development. The variation of the added amount of GA as well as the pH of the medium adds to even greater formation of COD. The study also performed electrochemical measurements to examine the interaction during the crystal formation process and the adsorption of GA with the formed crystals.
