Sažetak
One of the most important components of smart cities are smart citizens, i.e. people who actively participate in the functioning of the city. Current commu-nication technologies and smart devices are components that make this possible in near real-time. Crowdsourcing is becoming increasingly present in cartography and geovisualization, and the availability of smart devices with many sensors gives it new significance. In addition to well-known cartographic services such as Open Street Map and Google Maps, this paper describes the creation of a dynamic noise map in which students of the Faculty of Geodesy participate in the teaching of Ge-ovisualization. It is described how the use of free applications and programs and community engagement can provide high quality and informative cartographic rep-resentations, and the active participation of the community in collecting spatial data raises their awareness in creating and maintaining smart cities.
