Sažetak
INTRODUCTION: Artistic gymnastics is basic sport that involves the continuous progress of skills. As the 2019 competition season was last in the normal conditions. 2020 competition season was the year of Covid pandemic lockdown, so the training and competitions were delayed, and halls were closed. Gymnasts were without gymnastics training in the gymnastics hall from March to June. They only have online training from home. In normal conditions gymnasts from the “C” program trained two hours three times per week. The lockdown, training was online, at home, like challenge tasks, strength, stretching training maximal 30-45 minutes. The main problem was the closed hall and gymnasts doesn’t have apparatus at home. The aim of the investigation was to see is there a difference in the E-score results between National Competition in 2019 and 2020. METHODS: A sample consisted of 52 female gymnasts who participated in the competition 2019 before lockdown and 2020 after lockdown. The total number of participants at the national competition in the “C” program 2019 was 190, and in 2020 was 143. Only 52 gymnasts participated in the national competition before and after lockdown. Sample of the variable consisted of E-score of apparatus: vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor. Basic descriptive statistics was used for calculating basic statistics parameters. K-S test was used for testing the normality of distribution. Difference between E-score in 2019 and 2020 was calculated by T-test for dependent sample at the level of statistical significance p<0.05. RESULTS: Basic statistic parameters show that the average E-score at the vault 2019 was 9.18 and in 2020 9.16. At the uneven bars, average E-score in 2019 was 8.17, in 2020 was 8.18. E score at the balance beam in 2019 was 8.00, and in 2020 was 7.76. Floor results of E-score in 2019 was 8.60 and in 2020 was 8.43. Results of the T-test indicate that there is a statistically significant difference between 2019 and 2020 in E-score in the variable floor p≤0.05. DISCUSSION: the results show that there is a statistically significant difference between 2019 and 2020 in E-score at the floor. 2019 floor E- score is 0.17 points higher than E-score 2020. Floor is specific apparatus and required a gymnastic hall. All preparatory exercises that gymnasts are performed at home in the lockdown were almost basic strength and flexibility exercises. There are no place and conditions to do some specific methodical exercises, especially for floor which requires take-off and landing. Vault, balance beam difference in E-score is bigger in 2019 but is not statistically significant. Generally, we can conclude that quality of execution after the lockdown was worse than in 2019 and also a lot of gymnasts give up from the competition.
