Sažetak
The strategy Europa 2020 has been issued as an act under the assumption that it would undoubtedly contribute to the economic development of each EU Member State. In the focus of this paper is case study of Croatia as a state that fully meets the requirements of the Europa 2020 in the field of education without having the expected positive effects on socio-economic development. The authors offer an explanation of this unexpected situation by looking at it in the wider socio-demographic environment.
