Sažetak
Four high-entropy oxide heterogeneous catalysts were developed and synthesized via an ecologically acceptable synthetic route for the synthesis of the multimetallic oxides. They were structurally characterized and, as synthesized, they were subjected to catalytic testing, as actual catalysts for promotion of aldehydes to desired products, respectively 1, 2-diketones. Synthesis of 1, 2-diketones attracted much scientific attention over the years, due to various applications across many scientific fields. Recently, notable progress has been achieved with precious metal catalysts, but no heterogeneous catalysts were reported yet with the ability to provide such versatile catalytic behavior as homogeneous ones. Oxidative Pinacol-type coupling reactions were performed, using synthesized HEOs as actual catalysts. Results indicate high selectivity and catalytic activity towards the transformation of aldehydes to 1, 2-diketones, highly comparable with Pd-based homogeneous catalysts.
