Sažetak
The income inequality in Europe is supported by transitional process consequences. This inequality is analyzed by Lorenz curve and Gini coefficient and compared to the world income inequality indicators. In the last decade of twentieth century, there is a drastic reduction in economic activities of Central and Eastern European countries with negative GDP per capita growth rates. The perspectives of European transitional countries are based on the convergence hypothesis of neoclassical growth models. Technology transfer, the main mechanism through which regional integration affect the growth, will be realized by markets. Technology diffusion from leading economies to those trying to catch up will be supported by integration process. The level of human capital is important for ability to accept new products and technologies.
