Sažetak
Bee pollen is a valuable product collected from the honey bee colony using different types of pollen traps. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of different pollen trap types on the amount of collected bee pollen and the development of honey bee colony. The study was conducted on nine Apis mellifera carnica colonies. Comparing the average amount of collected pollen in April (89.49 g/day) and May (80.82 g/day), no significant difference was found (p=0.2289). An average of 70.77 g/day of bee pollen/hive was collected using front-mounted pollen traps, and 101.37 g/day was collected from the colonies with bottom-mounted traps. No significant differences were found in the number of bees (p=0.1492), cells with honey (p=0.1143), pollen (p=0.8066), and brood cells (p=0.0608). The results indicate a significant difference (p<0.0001) of pollen trap type on the amount of collected bee pollen, but there is no effect on honey bee colony development.
