Sažetak
Intracapsular hip fractures in the young patients are typically a high energy injury fractures which are commonly known as Pauwels type III. The commonly used devices for fixation of vertical femoral neck fractures are multiple screws or a sliding hip screw with or without an anti-rotation screw. Size, location, and length of the screws are the most effective parameters in terms of structural performance of internal fixation implants, but the optimal configuration of the screws is necessary to be investigated to guide the clinical practice. The aim of this study is to compare the biomechanical stability of two screw configurations one of which is an inverted triangle and the other one is an “x-crossed” assembly. The results showed that “x-crossed” screw configuration provides better performance than the inverted triangle configuration in terms of biomechanical stability.
