Sažetak
Legal linguistics as a scientific discipline was developed in the beginning of the 20th century. It has significantly expanded only in the last twenty years. Legal linguistics may broadly be defined as the study of the language of the law, including the language of legal documents and the language of courts. It also includes the study, the provision and improvement of professional legal interpreting and translation services, as well as the provision of forensic linguistic evidence based on the best available linguistic expertise. In simplest terms, legal linguistics examines the development, characteristics, and usage of legal language.
