Sažetak
The aim of the paper was to compare the influence of hybrid lines and for Ross-308 depending on the year of the hybrid line (2004, 2005, 2014 and 2016) on the speed of poultry growth and the suitability of the hybrid line for capon fattening. Standard feed for poultry, GMO FREE feed and feed enriched with clay BOLUS was used for fattening to determine the influence on the output body mass and meat quality. The poultry was kept at a poultry barn floor of the Križevci College of Agriculture with an access to a 27 m2 green outdoor surface. The results were monitored every week up to the moment of caponization, and then until the end of fattening for the cockerels and capons. It has been observed that the slow growing hybrid lines (Hubbard and Sasso) and the Ross-308 hybrid line from 2004 and 2005 have had a satisfactory growth rate required for the preparation and castration of cockerels and good fattening results with minimal loss of the individuals within the fattening period of 12 to 16 weeks. Testing the significance of differences between small independent samples was performed using a t-test (ANOVA).
