Sažetak
In this work, we described the fragmental method of calculation of partition coefficient, log P, according to Rekker's method. This method is based on summing up convenient parameters. Nys and Rekker were able to develop in well-considered steps ( from 1-7 ) a system of hydrophobic fragmental constants valid for a large and varied member of structural types. The attainment of optimal consistence between the aliphatic and aromatic f-sets - an unfulfilled saint wish for the Pi-system - was effectuated. The "Magic Constant" ( CM=0.289) is introduced as a means of restoring the imbalance between experimentally determined by log P values and calculations performed by mere fragment-addition.
