Sažetak
Introduction: Multiple sclerosis (MS) is idiopathic inflammation and autoimmune disease of central nervous system which is affecting quality of life of persons who suffer from it. Signs and symptoms of MS vary widely and depend on the amount of nerve damage and which nerves are affected. Goal of research: To test quality of life in patients with multiple sclerosis from the territory of Osijek - Baranja county and to see if there are differences in answers of examinees regarding to age, sex, occupation and physical activity. Methods and examinees: In the research were participating 62 examinees. They all suffer from multiple sclerosis and all live on territory of Osijek - Baranja county. Questionnaire was anonymous and it was used shorten version of the World Health Organization Quality of Life Instrument and sociodemographic data of examinees. Obtained data are processed by statistical program Tibco Statistica version 13.5. and Microsoft Office Excel 2013. Results: Examinees were mostly women (N = 56 ; 90, 3%). Mean value of assessment of quality of life from examinees is 3, 27. Younger examinees showed better quality of life than the older one. Employed examinees are satisfied with their quality of life. Physically active examinees have better quality of life. Conclusion: Research showed that there is no difference in quality of life regarding to patients sex but there is significant difference considering age, occupation and frequent physical activity.
