Eastern European regions' long history of emigration should not make forget that return migration and immigration are part of Eastern Europes modernization and post-socialist transition history as well, as the Croatian example shows. The contribution reflects on potentials and challenges of migration policies supporting sustainable development in Eastern Europe.
