Sažetak
Testicular seminoma belongs to testicular germ cell tumours (TGCT) which represent 95% of all testicular neoplasia. TGCT represent well recognized challenge in the frame of male reproductive health because TGTC affect young male population. TGCT are classified into seminoma and non-seminoma based on their degree of differentiation and histological characteristic. In routine diagnosis of TGCT, OCT ¾ and c-KIT are used as a biomarker for seminoma and embryonal carcinoma. The aim of this study, was to compare the expression of c- KIT gene with the expression of OCT ¾ in seminoma tissue. In this study, 52 seminoma tissue were collected. All seminoma tissue were embedded in paraffin and cut to 5 µm slides which were immunohistochemically stained. We used specific antibodies for visualization of OCT ¾ and c-KIT. Morphometric analysis for OCT ¾ and c-KIT expression was performed by pathologist. c-KIT and OCT ¾ were expressed in all seminoma tissue. Furthermore, out of 48 tissue samples, in more than 50% of seminoma cells c-KIT was present in 38 patients while OCT ¾ in just 23 samples analysed. There is a study in which we want to investigate different diagnostic, prognostic and possibly biomarkers for testicular seminoma and this research is a part of this bigger study. Give to our results, after the comparison of the expression of this biomarkers which are already being used in the routine diagnosis for testicular seminoma, c- KIT has a higher specificity then OCT ¾.
