Sažetak
Patient aged 37 years with medical history of diabetes mellitus (insulin dependent) was sent to our clinic for endodontic treatment of tooth 47. Small intraoral radiographic image of tooth 47 showed distinct radiolucency of periapical region. Patient major complain was intense pain of tooth 47 during chewing. Root canal treatment without systemic antibiotic support was made. Control radiography at 6 and 12 months showed a significant reduction of radiolucency indicating the successful healing of periapical tissues despite the presence of an advanced diabetes mellitus.
