Sažetak
Professional and school alternatives in scoliotic and/or kyphotic children were analyses by means of the specially designed questionnaire. All patients were treated in Scoliosis Clinic in Department of orthopaedic Surgery in Zagreb. Degree of the spinal deformation was correlated to the school and professional alternatives with special attention to the scoliosis and/or kyphosis sequelle e.g. cardio-respiratory system, late funcional changes of the spine. Conclusion: in children with spinal deformities profession and school alternatives are too restrictive and this is the most frequent mistake in the routine practice. In decision making process for the future school and profession if the children with spinal deformities, degree, position and progression of deformity are more important than only existence of deformity. Authors' classification of the deformed spine is proposed as well as possibilities of the school and profession directions in children with spinal deformations.
