Sažetak
The article examines the elements of descent to the underworld of the key figures in Christianity, together with some myths and works of art closely related to them. The author shows dire state of a hero before the descent, his helpers, the dead whom he meets, the reason for the task and the aftermath on the character’s life after his perilous feat . The same elements are analyzed as they appear in The Lord of the Rings.
