Sažetak
It is well known that cities are the areas with the highest concentration of transportation means in motion in relation to the population. Considering the types of traffic, traffic network and ways of traffic control, traffic is the main source of pollution and noise. With the latest technological revolution, industrial impact on the pollution of the environment has been considerably reduced, but traffic growth has greatly increased it. The paper analyses the influence of motor vehicles on the noise pollution and its effect on the environment and people in particular. The consequences of its harmful effects during a longer exposure are also analysed and measured. By means of new measuring methods and the analysis of measuring results, the criteria for the estimation of harmful noise effects are given. On the basis of the obtained results, noise protection systems are evaluated. Possible development of noise protection measures and means of noise protection in traffic are also evaluated.
