Sažetak
European cities today are increasingly recognised for their economic, social and environmental potential, and Capital cities tend to have the highest population growth as well as the highest share of working-age population (EC, The State of European Cities 2016). Urban planning and management is traditionally based on spatial and statistical information, which are a parts of national and European SDI based on legislation and polities. Those polities result with lots of benefits, but they are mostly created to fulfil needs of national and EU institutions and sometimes do not meet city management and planning objectives. Local level spatial data sets and services considering urban areas are significant part of INSPIRE and Croatian NSDI. City of Zagreb is involved in establishment of NSDI in Croatia from beginning and actively provides inputs to Croatian NSDI in role of NSDI subject. Management of official spatial information in Zagreb is orientated towards objectives of city administration, citizens and business sector. City of Zagreb is also developing its own infrastructure on local level with City Geoportal, both desktop and mobile version, as central point for accessing data on city level, adjusted to specified users. Main driver for inovation and the most important user of spatial information in city administration is urban planning and management system, especially in spatial data integration, analysis, presentation and dissemination.
