Sažetak
Herbarium collections are the most reliable source of historical data available in regards to alien plants. The survey across ZA and ZAHO herbarium collections unveiled the presence of as much as 1.152 specimens of invasive alien plant species (IAS), belonging to 70 plant taxa. The extent of sampling invasive taxa was not constant over time ; as high as 67% of the collection has been collected after the Second World War, with the collection peaking from 1900 and 1920, from 1960 to 1970 and in years after 2010. Herbarium records of 17 taxa revealed their first appearance in Croatia much earlier than it was known from literature so far. In order to enlarge its public availability, the studied collection of IAS was digitised and published in the virtual herbarium.
