Sažetak
The paper examines how the events taking place in one cultural setting (Croatia) are mediated through news reports into another one (British). An analysis of a corpus of news reports on the war in Croatia in British media has showed how the cultural patterns underlying the discourse on three levels have shaped the reports and their "preferred reading".
